The base of the lamp has been made from a heavily grogged clay, which then has been painted with brown acrylic paints. The glass lampshade has been formed using a "slumping" technique, which involves heating glass over a clay mold, enabling it to fall into shape. Lights have been wired up through the tree branches and the white paint illuminates the lights under the lampshade.
