Final Spaces

Meeting Space:

I designed the meeting space to be modern, with plain white walls and simple lighting, coming from the walkway. I intentionally only lit up half the room, with the one light coming through from the walkway to keep to the simplistic and modern inspiration for this room.

Alfred Nobel:"If i have a thousand ideas and only one turns out to be good, i am satisfied"

This space is design for Alfred Nobel. I've designed this space with alot of different rooms and platforms to illustrate his collection of many ideas. I've used warm colours in this space, which creates a welcoming atmosphere for research and invention.

Jacques-Yves Cousteau:"From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to the earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free"

This space is designed for Jacques-Yves Cousteau. One of his ideas metaphorically explores the freedom he feels when he dives beneath the water while undertaking his research. I have designed his studio as a multi-story studio, to resemble the transition from above to below the surface. I've created a cooling and calming atmosphere from the blue lights in the "below surface" space. And created a clean, natural feel in his "above ground" space. I've used earthy materials for the ground and walls as it has both the earthy aspect of Jacques-Yves cousteau idea and creates an interesting effect when the coloured lights are applied to them.
